This neighbourhood is conveniently located near the base of Backcomb Mountain, the Wizard and Magic Chairs, and the Chateau Whistler Golf Club. It is sometimes referred to as “the Benchlands.” During the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Whistler, you can catch sliding events like the bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton at Blackcomb. The sliding tracks can already be seen if you're on Whistler Mountain looking across Fitzsimmons Creek.
Whistler Village listings
Whistler Village includes several smaller communities all close to Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Blueberry Hill overlooks the Whistler Golf Club and close to the Whistler Creekside gondola and the Town Centre. Village North is near the Whistler Marketplace and both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Nicklaus North features a golf course and is a five-minute walk to the slopes and many of the summer and winter activities in Whistler. And finally, Alpine Meadows is five-minutes from the village and includes a sports complex and an outdoor centre.
Apline skiing events during the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Whistler will be on Whistler Mountain. These include Downhill, Super G, Giant Slalom, Slalom, and Combined. Widely considered one of the top three courses in the world, the Dave Murray Downhill in Whistler will host the all the men’s category events in these sports.
Whistler Creekside listings
Whistler Creekside is a short 10 minutes south of Whistler Village. It features a Town Centre and Gondola. This area will be transformed, during the games, into athlete facilities including cabins, athlete’s lounges, and security check posts. The plans for area will accommodate crowds of up to 7600 people. The Plans also show building a cabriole lift here to transport all these people to the Timing Flats.
